A romantic at heart, with a passion for new experiences, Sharon dreams and plans where she’ll go next. You’ll find her studying language, reading a classic historical novel, and planning her route. Painting unreal places on canvas is another way to capture and bring home memories.
As a plein air artist and photographer, she has traveled to Italy, England, Scotland, Germany, Austria, Ireland and Wales. Closer to home she paints seascapes, marshes, fields and architecture. She paints in plein air to increase her understanding of light on form as many of the great landscape artists of the past have done.
She has studied with renowned artists Dee Beard Dean, Bill Davidson, Damon Carter, Millie Gosch, and Chris Di Domizio. A versatile artist, she enjoys working in oil, pastels, and acrylics, and paints mainly in oils.
A gifted instructor, she relishes passing on that passion to her students which have included high school and adults. Past instruction has included The Timothy Ministry of First Baptist Church and Masters Academy of Fine Art Portfolio program, Woodstock, Ga. Currently she teaches adult landscape painting courses and workshops at the Eastern Shore Art Center in Fairhope, Ala, and the Mobile Museum of Art, Mobile, Ala, and is available for private instruction.
